Blocking and jacking – Crane strain

Blocking and jacking - Crane strain

Using: NEW Wooden Sleepers

For supporting loads whilst jacking, nothing really beats a nicely sawn, hardwood sleeper. Their combination of mass, strength, fantastic performance under compression and fibrous reluctance to slip or shift when stacked in correctly, makes them the engineers first choice when dealing with high mechanical loadings.

That’s why when a maintenance job was required on the undercarriage of a 50 tonne tracked crawler crane, 24 number new oak sleepers were on hand to hold the thing safely in the air whilst the engineers worked underneath.
