Support of a scaffolding section – Parliament Square, Westminster
Sectors:
Using: Out size and odd sized plates
The Palace of Westminster is a fine old building but certainly requires a fair bit of upkeep. It’s importance, size and position in one of the busiest parts of the nation’s capital, not to mention sensitive security issues, presents those charged with its care with some very particular challenges.
We looked at a standard solution for a client who had a section of footway to protect that was going the be subjected to loads from an extensive scaffold erection. Given a free run, 6 pieces of 3m x 1.5m x 25mm would have done the trick. But due to a restrictive widths and various existing drain and stonework issues in the footway, these wouldn’t do without modification.
So the client surveyed his site, sent through some drawings of what he needed, including anti-slip coating, and our fabricating team produced the goods in time to be installed overnight when the traffic was at its lowest flow.
