Working with U.K Airports - Protecting new concrete

Using: 6m x 3m x 25mm AIR SIDE – Steel C/W Bevelled Edge and SALLY

Even those that have never set foot on a runway or airside apron will have looked out a plane window in wonder at the massive patchwork quilt of concrete panels that make up modern ground airport infrastructure.

It is of course no accident that these areas are gridded out and uniform in size. When constructing them, each panel can be calculated to take a set number of standard concrete truck mixer loads. It also means that subsequently, if problems occur, or if alterations are required, the affected areas can be isolated and therefore limit the impact on airport operations.

Sometimes however, the repaired areas, have to be cleared and pressed back into service, before any newly laid concrete is completely cured. Our 6m x 3m x 25 mm AIRSIDE plates have been used by notable contractors on airports from Gatwick to Glasgow and everywhere in between.
