Hole Storey
A driver in East Grinstead, Sussex took a turn for the worst recently.
Whilst negotiating a lane restriction made up with plastic barriers whilst a gas main was being replaced, he apparently took to the near side to avoid oncoming traffic.
Despite the barrier installation being present and correct the excavation within them was deep enough to give him a fright!
Fortunately no damage was caused to the gas main which would have made the situation becoming much more serious.
No roadplates were harmed in the making of this article, mainly because the trench had none over it. Shame that!
The blue Vauxhall Agila wasn’t quite so lucky and was hauled away by a tow truck for an expensive insurance job.
