An underground fuel line junction required repairs on a section that ran underneath a roadway used by heavy trucks in LHR. The 2.50 m (8 foot) square hole was to be left open for a period of weeks whilst an engineered solution was manufactured.
Because it was an open square void rather than just a trench, and given the sensitivity of the underlying services, the client elected to choose the largest cross section available that met his 4.5 tonne SWL handling on site.
So an FE45 – 45 mm thickness was despatched to do the job, with absolute confidence of its performance.
