Switchroom – UCL London

Using: 1.25m x 1.25m x 6mm (4ft x 4ft x 1/4 inch) – Steel
Deep within the bowels of any building of consequence is a switch room containing heavy but sensitive electrical panels. Unfortunately, being the bowels, they aren’t always the prettiest places to try and work in and can often be a bit of a challenge to manoeuvrer heavy equipment in and out of situ.
Some of the challenges are uneven floors or split floor levels. With the usual lack of an option to lift/crane or hoist into position from above, this sort of obstacle can be a real problem.
The use of a 1.25m x 1.25m x 6mm (4ft x 4ft x 1/4 inch) – Steel Checker Plate, with either texture upwards for grip, or flipped over to be smooth enough to skate or slider over can overcome a multitude of such challenges.
